Return to Coding

Took a nice break over the holiday to keep from burning out on this page. Trying my hand at uploading images to a web repository for use within my pages. Shown below is an image saved in Picasa that I am using as a background to a clickable link. The idea is that I will use this within my navigation pane on the left for each item using the same background image, while changing the text rather than creating a new image for each link.

Update: I successfully implemented my idea for a navigation sidebar that uses one image background for each link. This can now be seen on all wiki pages.

Another Update: Busy day today, I decided to use a nice slate background image to complement the new menu images. All in all things are coming together great.

Polishing

Polishing

Much of yesterday evening and this morning I have spent a lot of time polishing the navigation menu on the sidebar. Rather than using the generic template text, I have personalized it more to have the content types I would likely use in my own campaign. I have also created placeholder wiki pages so the links don’t all appear to be broken. Today I’ll be looking into ways to create image icons to replace the text links to give it a better look.

Today marks the beginning of my project plans to better understand what the capabilities of Obsidian Portal are as well as to develop my future campaign.
To begin gathering ideas I am taking a good amount of time reading through the contents of the various Sticky threads within the forums.

So far I have a few good ideas for site presentation regarding Navigation, information organization, and various templates. As can be seen by this great Parchment template used for this log post.
